Roman Era

Roman Era

History

The Roman city of Sellium – nowadays called Tomar - was created about 2000 years ago. The Romans passed through it on the way between Olissipo (Lisbon) and Aeminiem (Coimbra), crossing the Nabanis River, nowadays called Nabão, through the "Ponte Velha" bridge, which, despite the changes it has undergone over the years, still characterizes this city.
On this floor our guests will find the symbolism of the Roman age, with marble and gold recreations, the simplicity and ostentation - the privilege of being Roman in Sellium
